Axxis Series (Design, Decoration and Fashion) / 2004 - 2005
Starting from models like the Axxis Magazine, finding articles that include situations where the works of art present are taken out of their context and stripped of their artistic sense is frequent. The selected images present works by recognized Colombian authors, that are exposed in different homes which architecture, interior design, furniture and decoration, are added to all other elements to portray an elevated level of economic capacity and social prestige. The photographs from the magazine are accompanied by small texts that hi-light the artists' prestige, turning them into products of consumption. It is not the work of art itself that is valued, but its author. These type of meetings configure a common reality exposes on a daily basis the relation between the need of formation and culture. The opening of spaces of interaction and the play of appearances that involves having access to a representative piece in the cultural, economic and social fields.
