Exhibitions & Honors
Working in the art field led me to ask myself how I should represent my thoughts and visions about the places I have visited or where I live at the moment, figuring out how to think from the images I see and create and how to show and ponder on. And, somehow to question my responsibilities as an artist. I enjoy meeting new people and places to feed my ideas and vision; trying to be sharp when I get to conceptualize my thoughts and also to be precize in the way that I materialize them. Thinking from the concept throughout the process, the format and material that I would determine is the best way to state the main idea, as well as the quality of the image that I’m working on, through the ending result of the piece. Having the opportunity to work as an artist throughout the years, has allowed me to experience some international exhibitions, and work in some spaces such as galleries and art fairs in Colombia, the United States of America, and even Europe.
I have had the chance to work with different communities such as indigenous people, victims of violence, and to collaborate with projects in which the truth, acceptance and forgiveness in cases like Mapiripan (book), and the 19 traders’ massacre (monument), and also side by side with renowned photographers such as Mads Nissen (DK) on projects considered of great importance looking forward for the peace in Colombia, my home country. Also, I have worked with different galleries from around the world helping them mounting the art pieces, packaging them for different Art Fairs like ArtBasel Miami, ArtBo, Art Miami, And Arles Photo festival, among various exhibitions worldwide, giving me the opportunity to install Artwork for various collectors, private clients, and personal shows as a matter of experience the meticulous handling of the pieces.
